Introduction
This is
another exciting story based on the legendary elite
soldier, John Raven, who after giving many years of his
life to doing what he does best, has now decided to
spend considerable time with His Own Blood
to hopefully get to know them better and catch up on the
years he had unfortunately lost with not knowing about
John Weller-Raven or his twin sister, Sarah Jane.
Raven
enjoyed his new life with the kids he never knew he had,
which made him begin to mellow and have people think
that his military days are now at last over. His son
whom he had rescued from Iraq on a previous mission
respected his legendary father for who he was and just
wanted to be like him in every way. He always felt as
though he was in his shadow, which began to become a
burden for him. Raven only needed to walk into a room
and he could see the respect people had for him, where
he so dearly wanted one day to receive the same
recognition, just so that he could make his father proud
of him for who he is and not who he is the son of.
Sarah
Jane also saw the respect that her legendary father
could command with just showing his presence making her
tell him that she would like to come back to the force
just to be like him. Sarah Jane was Raven’s apple in his
eye and flatly refused and told her, be anything but me.
Of course Sarah Jane who had a mind of her own had told
her father adamantly that she would return to the force
and hopefully receive the recognition that her mother
and father could be so proud of. Raven wasn’t happy with
her decision and knew she had only ever seen the gentle
side to him where he became a good father to her. The
dark side that always remained she had yet to witness,
making her have to wonder will she still come back to
the force when she saw her father for who he really is
and doing things that are unimaginable.
Weller-Raven had received some time off and decided to
visit his best mate, Tony Hindle and stay at his house
for a few days where they could reminisce about their
times on the force. Whilst travelling he had a conflict
with a group of Asians at the railway station inside a
newsagents forcing them to sensibly retreat from what
had now become a full blown combat fighting machine,
just like his legendary father he so wanted to live up
to. Weller had to walk past the very same people outside
the railway station where he didn’t want conflict. They
noticed his bag and then his name in dark green letters
forcing one of them to shout out aloud that his leader
wears a stone in honour of a person with the very same
name. Weller carried on walking, he had heard every word
mentioned and later on asks his father regretfully about
the stone that seemed to have a lot of history with it.
When Weller arrives at his best mate’s house he has it
confirmed that unfortunately Tony is dying slowly with
gangrene in his leg from the severe torture he had
received whilst fighting for his Country against Iraq
and Russia. This Tony knew but chose to put on a brave
face whilst his best mate was stopping with him and his
partner.
For
Rachel who is Tony’s girlfriend, she felt glee in seeing
him being happy once more with Weller staying with them.
It seemed like old times when they laughed and joked,
but occasionally the torture they had both received from
Iraq always came back to remind them who they really are
and what now has to happen. Word had spread to Captain
Weller, Colonel Wareing and a host of other military
service men, past and present that Tony Hindle sadly
didn’t have too long to live and it would be a good idea
for some of his friends to come and visit him before its
too late.
With the
sun finally deciding to make an appearance and shine,
which did make a change from the persistent rain that
had fallen previously, Rachel told both men to go out
and enjoy themselves. John would push his best mate in
the wheelchair and eventually decided to have a bite to
eat. When he pushed Tony through the door that had been
held open from a beautiful waitress, their eyes met
making Tony say to John that she is a good looking girl
and he should ask her out. John distinctly tells him
that he is here for him, but Tony doesn’t accept this.
Across
the other side of the café another group of Asians are
found to be loud making other customers feel insecure
and intimidated. Both John and Tony had already noticed
this, but when one decides to speak in an arrogant
manner to the waitress John seems to have his eye on, it
forces him to have to stand up and go and protect her.
With tension rising and a hostile atmosphere developing
the manager asks in a polite manner for these people to
leave. John Weller then repeats what the manager has
just said, only in a more assertive manner. Reluctantly
the Asians leave forcing one to make contact and shrug
Weller’s shoulder making him have to decide whether or
not he retaliates towards them.
When
this hostile situation had been diffused the soldier and
the waitress decide to break the ice and introduce
themselves to each other by giving their names. Tony is
aware that both people have chemistry and encourages
John to ask her out on a date. Not sure whether he will
get another chance he decides to ask her out in a round
about way to an American football match that is being
played later on in the week. The waitress accepts his
proposal where this amuses Tony because he didn’t tell
her the evening or his phone number. With now knowing
this John gave her this information when they were
leaving the café, only for Tony to invite her with no
pressure to his house later for a barbeque if she wanted
to come.
At the
barbeque some of Tony’s ex colleagues had turned up to
visit him with now knowing he didn’t have much longer
left in this world where they seemed to be all enjoying
themselves, but yet aware of the real reason why they
was there, which made people at times look away from the
laughter and joking and towards Tony where their face
became somewhat more sombre. One person they didn’t
expect coming to the barbeque, was John Raven.
After
receiving a phone call from his son he decided he had to
come and visit an ex member of Unit Invincible, forcing
Tony, when he had realised who had arrived to try and
stand, only to be helped from his best mate and Raven’s
son, John Weller. Noticing how his father could demand
this type of respect made his son become upset, where
they moved away from the group to have a short
discussion about whether or not he would come up to the
same standard his legendary father had already achieved.
Finding out that the waitress had now arrived and his
eyes becoming somewhat glazed, he asked his father for
something to wipe his eyes, making him have to pull from
his pocket the American headband he had worn whilst
fighting in Iraq.
Everybody seemed to be having a good time forcing people
to tell stories about their past. Even John Raven told a
couple of stories, but when he had been questioned about
the stone he gave to Azar many years ago it brought back
many memories from previous wars he had been involved
in.
The
television was on in the kitchen where reports were
coming through that America had been hit by a terrorist
attack forcing all of the people to become somewhat
sombre for their own reasons.
This was
the beginning because more brutal attacks followed,
making the President of America have to stand and
deliver a speech to her own people on several occasions.
With not yet knowing who the enemy is and feeling
desperate that something ought to be done, the President
addresses the American people from a live football game
where she is later kidnapped at the expense of American
lives being saved. This results in Louise, John’s
Weller’s girlfriend in actually seeing him for what he
really is. Regretfully he has to kill using the knife
that had been given to him by his father, which she
finds hard to accept. Sarah Jane who is also at the game
with her father notices her brother leaving and wants to
help him by driving the car Tony owns in pursuit of the
President.
After a
experiencing a breath taking chase, Sarah Jane finds
herself underneath Air Force One where her brother tells
her to come closer to the wheels to enable him to leap
onto them and climb up into the huge 747 plane. His main
objective was to protect the First Lady, making him act
spontaneously, just as his father would once have
previously done.
Sarah
Johnson who was the Secretary of State called an
emergency meeting and then contacted Colonel Wareing
feeling that there was only one man that could bring the
President back home. Colonel Wareing was furious,
especially with one of America’s finest soldiers already
trying to undertake this job. Sarah Johnson listened to
the Colonel’s comments but her request remained the
same. With already seeing Raven in action and what he
can create, which is total carnage, she had made up her
mind that Raven had to be on this mission, retired or
not.
Raven
didn’t make his Superior Officer ask; instead he told
him that he would do it, whilst trying to help a pilot
regain his confidence back after witnessing his good
friend die from a previous terrorist attack.
To
Raven’s surprise and through no fault of his, Sarah Jane
who he knew was an inquisitive daughter had taken it up
on her self to snoop around after Luke Tyler had been
called to Colonel Wareing’s office. After being
distinctly told to move a way from this restricted zone,
she sulked resulting in her climbing in one of the armed
military helicopters ready for action and fell asleep.
When
they arrived in North Korea they came under heavy attack
from a Korean fighter plane making Raven’s helicopter
crash and force the military helicopter Sarah Jane was
now travelling on to land and try and help. Luke Tyler,
Brian Hughes and Sarah Jane managed to pull the dazed
Raven away to safety only for Hughes and Sarah Jane to
be captured by the North Koreans and be taken captive.
When
Raven came out of his daze he was alone in the Korean
jungle. He had experienced this many times before, but
this time was different, he had to try and bring back
the President that his son had already begun and then
when he found Sarah Jane’s crucifix on the ground, he
knew that the mission had just become twice as big
because once again it was also going to be for His
Own Blood!
